Step 1:

How it works

Registration Opens September 2nd

Choose Your Project and Goals

Participants have the freedom to select any writing project they wish to focus on. There are no restrictions on genre or format, and writers set their own goals based on personal aspirations and schedules. The primary focus is to encourage consistent progress on your chosen project over the course of the fall from October-November.

Step 2:

Engage with a Supportive Community

The program offers a private, moderated online community where writers can share their progress, exchange feedback, and support each other through the challenges of the writing process. This collaborative environment fosters accountability and inspiration.

Step 3:

Participate in Workshops and Sessions

Throughout the fall, the challenge hosts various workshops and sessions aimed at enhancing your writing skills and keeping you motivated.

  • Writing Sprints: Come together with other writers to share a dedicated creative space. Writing Sprints are online and at various times of the day.
  • Workshops: Designed to motivate and provide insights to help you complete your writing tasks.
  • Accountability Check-ins: Regular meetings to track progress and adjust goals as needed.
  • Open Mics: We know that reading your work is an important part of the writing process.  We are offering 6 Open Mics over the fall so that you can share your work and feel connected to other writers.
Step 4:

Access to Resources and Incentives

Participants receive access to a variety of resources, including:

  • Fall Writing Challenge website with private social media functionality.
  • Workshop recordings and articles.
  • Motivational posts and writing exercises.
  • A web-based point system to track progress, with opportunities to earn prizes.
Step 5:

Celebrate Your Achievements

At the end of the challenge, a wrap-up event is held to celebrate participants' accomplishments and discuss the next steps in their writing journeys. Additionally, a Certificate of Completion is awarded to recognize your dedication and progress.

  • Workshop recordings and articles.
Motivational posts and writing exercises sent via email.
  • A web-based point system to track progress, with opportunities to earn prizes.
