What is the Professional Directory, and why should I use it?

The professional directory is a service we decided to offer to help our members publicize their services, as well as somewhere where we could refer people looking for help with their writing projects. It began in August 2017, and has quickly been growing–from just three participants in the first week, to a dozen a few days later. Every week we get more applications.

You must be a member to participate, but there is no true application process. We allow people to post their qualifications themselves, and let those qualifications speak for themselves.

Participants are seperated into five distinct categories: Designers & Illustrators, Marketing Professionals, Editors & Translators, Workshop Presenters, and Writers for Hire. Members can be listed under as many of these categories as they wish, but they only have one profile.

If you think you have a service to offer BC writers, and you are a member of the FBCW, you are encouraged to submit a listing to the professional directory. To do so, please visit

http://www.bcwriters.ca/professional-directory/#Apply and fill out the form at the bottom of the page. We will get the submission, read it over, and upload it within 2-5 days. At that point, we’ll email you with a link to your new listing! Please ensure you check the listing for grammatical errors (we do not edit submissions when they come in) and be as detailed as possible.

For writers looking for an illustrator, an editor, a publicist, or anything else, this is quickly becoming the best place to find one. If anyone has questions or suggestions about this service, please email me at communications@bcwriters.ca
