Jennifer Manuel

Jennifer Manuel was the 2017 winner of the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize for The Heaviness of Things That Float, which The Vancouver Sun calls “a remarkable novel, deeply of our time and place in BC and Canada.” The CBC named Manuel “A Writer to Watch” in 2016. She has achieved acclaim for her short fiction, including being a Western Magazine Finalist. Her first children’s novel is coming out with Lorimer Publishing this August. Manuel teaches elementary and high school in the traditional territory of the Nuu-chah-nulth peoples.
