Jocelyn Reekie:
I love the whole book-making process and have explored every facet of it, from writing to editing, publishing, printing and even book binding. I’ve worked as a copywriter for radio and a journalist. More recently, I’ve bent my efforts to writing novels, short stories and picture books.
In 1996, the Banff Book Editing Program launched me into editing. Since then I’ve had the pleasure of working with many writers.
My career as a publisher has been short, but enjoyable. In 1995, I established Kingfisher Publishing and together with a partner produced an anthology with 33 contributors titled ShoreLines: Memoirs & Tales of the Discovery Islands.
In 2010, I established Peregrin Publishing, and was joined by five other writers and artists to produce Escape, an anthology released in Nov. 2012, highlighting the work of 28 writers and artists. Present and future pursuits include more writing, painting, editing and publishing, along with more swimming, laughing and loving. Because there’s always room for more.
