A free-range child, Maggie Bolitho grew up in Victoria BC. She spent her childhood flying under the radar, constructing alternate universes, and wishing for 20/20 vision. At age seventeen she left home and let curiosity shape her life. She lived in four different Canadian cities before moving to Australia for twenty years. While she was Down Under she explored the Outback and started writing fiction.
She now divides her time between Victoria and Salt Spring Island, B.C.
Maggie Bolitho’s YA novel Lockdown was released in April 2014 by Great Plains Teen Fiction. In 2015 HarperCollins Australia released her novel Outback Promise.
You can read a collection of her flash fiction (stories 500 words or less) on her website.
Her short stories have been published in anthologies in Australia, the US and Canada. Her poetry has been published in Quills Canadian Poetry Magazine.
In 2012 Maggie re-started the Young Writers’ Club of North Vancouver. She remains involved with this group through her voluntary work with the Lynn Valley Literary society as secretary treasurer. The LVLS is a not-for-profit organization. She is available to lead workshops for young people ages 11-18.
