Michelle Barker lives in Penticton, B.C. She has published poetry, fiction and non-fiction in several journals and literary reviews. Her poetry has appeared in the Best Canadian Poetry (2011) anthology. Her fiction has been nominated for the Journey Prize (2013) and she won a gold National Magazine Award in personal journalism (2002). Michelle has just completed her MFA in creative writing at UBC. She has served as an auxiliary mentor with Booming Ground and presently runs creative writing workshops at the Shatford Centre in Penticton. She has been a freelance editor for many years and loves working with students as a mentor.
