Library Donation

In this season of giving, the Federation of BC Writers is very proud to announce that we have donated our extensive collection of books to the Surrey Public Library.

The collection will now be available not only to the libraries of Surrey, but, through the inter-library loan program, to all participating libraries across the province!

Sincere thanks go to Janice Lesley, who very kindly stored the collection in her facility in Coquitlam over the past few years, as we downsized.

Federation of BC Writers Gifts Books to Surrey Libraries
Surrey, BC – The Federation of BC Writers has donated its extensive collection of books featuring BC writers to the Surrey Libraries.

“Books should be read. Not sitting in a collection unavailable to readers,” said Ben Nuttall-Smith, president of FBCW. “It’s a win-win-win. A win for the readers, a win for the library and a huge win for the writer who gets their words into the hands of readers. It’s why we all do it. For the readers.”

Library Board Chair Linda Stromberg thanked the FBCW for their donation. “Surrey Libraries is delighted to receive this donation. It helps support the programming we offer to promote our talented local writers. We are proud to preserve the legacy of BC writers and look forward to our continued relationship with FBCW”.

As books become available, FBCW will continue to add to its donation.
